Bed & Jerry's Uses Sound to Chill Ice Cream
From NPR: Bed & Jerry's Uses Sound to Chill Ice Cream
I saw a similar device years ago on one of those invention programs on TV. It has been already been used by NASA. (Discovery STS-42) While it is currently quite expensive (most new tech is) it also uses less electricity than a conventional compressor and has no moving parts.
Imagine if this device was as cheap as a compressor but used 60% less electricity? Imagine the savings in the US alone! Plus no freon, cfc's, etc.
Fantastic!
