Here's some commentary on North Korea that I've found interesting.
The Gangster Confederacy by Tom Holsinger.
North Korea'sTony Sopranos by Trent Telenko. A follow up by Telenko. More.
Randall Parker Disagree with both Tom and Trent. Fascinating discussion ensues.
Steven Den Beste has many posts on the topic, the most interesting of which is probably here. He also provides links to some of his earlier posts in this entry.
Tom Holsinger thinks it's finally coming to a close. Shortly before the train explosion, I asked him if he still thought N. Korea would collapse soon. He said they're on end-run production - that is, the N. Korean economy is consuming resources it needs to keep going - they're eating thier own seed corn. China has had to increase it's border security because N. Korean soldiers were crossing the Yalu to rob banks. If you get that far, the game is up.
He said he expects the final collapse next winter.
Oh, and check out some childrens' programming. While supplies last.
