I heard these exact same criticisms from one of our agency's recently returned National Guard veterans who just finished serving almost a year in Iraq. A Major in the National Guard he complained bitterly that the administration didn't know what it was doing. He said for the first six months of his tour of duty there were many opportunities to succeed that were ignored completely by the politicians in Washington. His prediction is that things will continue to get worse and we'll eventually leave the country with the job unfinished.
