re: A Frank Guide to a Cordial Political Discussion

In my opinion inflexibility in an issue and lack of humility in someone's post takes away all of that person's credibility. I have never trusted or valued people's opinions when they spoke in absolutes. I would greatly value a person's view on the upcoming election if they would simply admit they know the candidate they support actually has some flaws and there are things that make the poster uneasy about them. When we elect a leader they don't become superhuman or godlike. Yes, there's this degree of respect that comes with the office so I won't go up to George Bush and spit on him but in a dinner conversation with him I would consider my opinions with him to be equally as important and if he didn't ask nicely for me to pass the salt his sodium levels would diminish.
