I certainly don't. Not even a little bit.
To me it's clear the atmosphere which resulted in the torture came from above, and DO NOT reflect the nature of our folks.
And, part of this tragecy is that as far as America's role as a whole over there, there are lapses which eclipse the good.
When a person is sentenced for battering his/her spouse, it is NOT a defence to say that 99% of the time they were NOT whupping their mate. They were sleeping, working, helping the kids with homework, heck, it was rare for them to really clobber their husband/wife.
A bank robber doesn't get to say that 99% of the time they were volunteering at their local library and NOT robbing banks. Can say it, and they are still a bank robber.
Same with child molester, and so on.
The person caught driving while intoxicated could say that 99% of the time they were sober while driving.
None of which excuses or explains away the battery, robbing, molesting or DUI.
Arf (sure was lucky that kid could write in English, or his sign wouldn't have been legible)

I don't think anyone doubts the basic "goodness" of American soldiers.
