The numbers are going to be all over the board.

My comment was regarding the "independent" or "undecided" voters. According to what I've read, and I don't know the source and I'm not claiming this to be Gospel, they mostly vote against an incumbent.

So, I think there are the identified hardcore supporters of Kerry and Bush. That seems to be about equal.

And then there are the folks who are officially "undecided", and I suspect for a couple of reasons they will break toward Kerry. The first is that they traditionally do, the second is what I believe is a reasonably deep dissatisfaction with what's going on with America.

The middle-of-the-road American usually, in my limited observations, go for the candidate who is best for their pocketbook AND believes will project America to the world in the best light.

They are proud of their country, and want the rest of the world to admire America, too.

Add those folks, and that's the majority of which I was talking.

And, the next President will preside over one helluva mess with the economy. Don't know why anyone would want the job UNLESS they didn't care about deficits.
