I use ACAD 2000i. I am pushing for the office to upgrade this year. all of our consultants have upgraded to at least 2004, and it is causing problems when they save down for us. Also the learning curve is going to be a huge jump for everybody in the office, so it might take some time to implement. The next factor is this year AutoDesk will probably drop support for 2000i. I really don't need the support except that it usually means they won't give you an upgrade price after they drop the support. Also 2000i is not supported on win XP already so it causes some little inconvenient work-arounds.
Tom is another AutoCAD user here. If I remember right he is still on R14 or R13.
It sounds like you are a Geo-engineer. That's a fascinating field to me.
On a side note have you heard of Frank's Slide in Alberta Canada. I drove through it a few years ago, and it is truly amazing. I hope to plan a backpacking trip through there some day.
