Hell, if Tony was on, it was a likeable show.
"We're advising our clients to put everything they have into canned food and shotguns."
Back in the early ‘70’s -- around ‘74 -- I recall a fun special featuring several well-known talents, and in this one, Carly Simon sang “You’re so Vain†to Tony Randall. He played the part so perfectly -- so eloquently -- even a scene with him supposedly on a date with Helen, but carrying on a conversation with his own reflection in a stream the footbridge they were on crossed over. Utterly cute.
The above was picked from my brain, and I can't find any links for the special, and in all honesty, I think it may have been Helen Reddy singing Carly's hit to Tony, but it was definitely Tony.
And, interestingly enough, there's this.
Cheers,
Dan
