would seem to support the premise that the abuse was the acts of a few sickos.
It doesn't prove that MI didn't tell them to soften up prisoners for interrogation but assuming they knew the prisoners were common criminals it doesn't seem likely they would have picked them for this kind of treatment on the orders of superiors.
