Ran into a DVD set at Borders last weekend and made an impulse purchase: set of a British mini-TV series based on Gaiman's Neverwhere. I hadn't read the comics, and had never heard of the TV series (probably this is old news to you, since you stay on top of stuff like this).

Anyway, watched the first installment, and ended up watching all of them in succession. Pretty cool!

For those who haven't seen it, it is a fantasy set in London and mainly below London. Video-taped with passable video-tape effects (not up to movie standards). Some action sequences kind of sketchy and unbelievable. Acting pretty darn good (the blacksmith chick from Knight's Tale was the only actor I sort-of knew). Interesting story and characters. Twisty plot. Cool villains.

Really a pleasant surprise. Don't tell me how much I should have spent on it.
