Slabs of concrete, metal and glass crashed down onto a waiting area in terminal 2E just before 7 a.m. (6 a.m. British time) on Sunday, soon after passengers alerted police to cracks in the domed ceiling.
The accident brought down a 50-metre long, 30-metre wide (160 by 100-foot) section of the long, tube-like building, and flights were directed to other terminals.
The roof collapsed just 11 months after the futuristic terminal opened to fanfare following construction delays. French authorities began a criminal investigation later on Sunday.
