Evidence

The AP is referring to at least two separate videos, possibly three. The first is the wedding video they somehow "obtained." Nobody knows how this video got to them, or how it got out of a battle site. The AP story says the cameraman was killed in the attack. Who decided to grab the video while the bombs were falling? The Guardian story says jets and convoy headlights were seen during the party, which ended at 10:30 PM, and that the attack started 4 1/2 hours later (slow convoy). Odd that the cameraman did not see fit to point his camera at these odd occurences.

I'm not sure how the original story of ground fire fits into this. The wedding party story says they were all asleep.

A second video is that footage taken by the AP at the site. Where were our troops when this was going on? The third video is the footage of the funerals, seen on Arab TV. I have no idea what the source of that video is.

The news stories tend to blur this distinction, for obvious reasons.

I have seen none of these videos. Nor have I seen the photos displayed at the DOD news conference. Apparently nobody in the audience of news people decided to publish them, and the DOD is notoriously slow about getting these online. I don't know if any of this mission was filmed on site by the military either.

That there is still more to this story on both sides is obvious. Who you give the benefit of the doubt depends on how you think.

You automatically believe that the Americans are lying, and Iraqis are telling the truth. I tend to believe the opposite. I guess that's just a difference in worldview.
