re: Cost Reduction

The large asbestos collector is only 2.4 percent of the surface area of an equivalent photovoltaic array (or mirror concentrators). In addition, the material cost for asbestos piping and insulation is about 1 percent of the cost of photovoltaics per unit area. The result is a whopping 4167-fold reduction in cost!!!!

Still, a photovoltaic array would cost $52 trillion. So even with cost reductions as stated, the 40-km diameter asbestos collector would cost $13 billion !!!

That's alot of cash! Nobody puts down that kind of cash without some serious political chit-chat. And don't ask me how much the Fresnel lens would cost. That's gonna be through the roof!
