As much as I don't agree with the choice to take Iraq, I don't think the motivation was racist or religious. The motivation is the big ass puddle of hydrocarbons under the soles of the Iraqis. However, in their rush to get things zipped up and squash the insurgency, the environment is effectively the same.

Just remember, those are still our peeps over there just following orders and doing the best they can under untenable circumstance.
