And a very poor one at that. He should read Chomsky before writing.

A. S. - "There are plenty of reasons to worry about Iraq. There are also many valid criticisms of the occupation. But I have yet to read any cogent criticism that offers any better future plan than the one president Bush outlined Monday night."

That there are not any good options was pointed out to GWB & Co. long, long ago. This was predicable and predicted. And when he headed down that slippery slope all by himself he was responsible for having a way out.

And he didn't. And he doesn't. Definition of a quagmire.

It is NOT the responsibility of anyone else to have a way out of this mess. It is up to Bush, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Pearl, Rice, and Cheney, the mastermind of putting the US into this trap.

To criticize others for not having a way out, for resenting being in this mess, is an example of the arrogance which got us here in the first place. And those of us who pointed out that this is where we'd be are absolutely justified in criticizing to our hearts content. Because we said he'd get into a spot we couldn't get out of.

What a maroon. And 801 Americans have died because Bush didn't have the slightest idea as to what he was doing past inciting a lynch mob.
