Sounds like some place I'd like to go!
I'm sure Rumsfeld could write the brochures.
And Cheney could distribute them!
No matter which way you spin it, we just shouldn't BE THERE.
Eventually they WILL have WMD (or smaller ones) and attack anything and everything we've built.
For those of you who say it wasn't for the oil, for those of you who say Sadam was a tyrant and had WMD, for those of you who say it was for democracy......I ask you this:
If I would have told you a couple of years ago (and I did) that taming Islamic society was impossible under Western "traditions" (even Texas-style I might add). That 30 miles west of Bagdad where we were to be greeted with hearts and minds, would stand a city where recruitments for the war on terror exist outside our "occupation" in the most virulent form ever imagined!?
That we GAVE the city back to the militants because they beat us at our own game, or because we thought we might appease some former members of Husseins' top guard?
No, not only was the planning of this war a disaster, but the IDEA of going in there in the first place belonged to a nutball and his friends.
It's amazing how most Americans went along with this administration into limbo, based on false evidence with a good deal of fear (spoon fed to us by Bush and the media).
Oh, don't we all look like fools right now.
Or, as my hairdresser says (who's son in law just got back from Iraq), "You just don't know the GOOD we're doing over there".
My question is "Why THERE?"
Why not HERE?
