All the headlines are about gas prices now. Like Eliza jumping from ice floe to ice floe, the Democrats have to abandon one growing economic statistic after another. Hear anything about employment lately, other than lame anecdotes about Fred who still doesn't have a job?
Surveys say only about 5 percent of Americans think Bush is to blame for the gas prices. I would imagine this would go up if the media dedicates itself to this canard as thoroughly as it has to others, but right now it's 5 percent.
What's left if the prices go down? I predict doomsaying about inflation and higher interest rates. Anyone else want to guess?
By the way, if a liberal starts pontificating about how the high gas prices are hurting consumers and forcing them to cut corners in other areas of their lives, ask them if they support higher gas taxes. Watch the fun.
