one unabashed liberal's solution for the entire Mid-East...

Historical change comes about because of episodes that in retrospect are labeled "discontinuities."

We invaded and occupied Iraq because we were told that country had WMD's and threatened us with them. In addition, Saddam was a cruel and nasty person.

We have captured Saddam. Found no WMD's. And can't figure a decent way to get out of this schmess.

Now we have been threatened by Iran. The leadership is by (what the Iranian people consider) very good men, but they do have the weapons of mass destruction we have been worried about, and apparently the will to use them. They have issued a threat and warning to us as:

Out of Iran "Our missiles are now ready to strike at their civilization, and as soon as the instructions arrive from Leader ['Ali Khamenei], we will launch our missiles at their cities and installations."

This is a clear threat and it was followed by present danger that is evidenced by Mr. Ashcroft's heightened warnings. Further they say,

" Our motto during the war (in Iraq) was: Karbala, we are coming, Jerusalem, we are coming. And because of Khatami's policies and dialogue between the civilizations, we have been compelled to freeze our plan to liberate the Islamic cities. And now we are [again] about to carry out the program."

I hereby offer Preznit Bush one of the only conceiveable solutions. He should like it because it is pre-emptive, would show them thar Muslims a thing or two and is a Texas style solution. It is simple.

Mr. Preznit, you should send a batallion of construction engineers to Saudi-Arabia. Specifically to Mecca, hook-up that big black rock they call the Karbala to a Sky-Crane and snatch that sucker to the deck of a carrier waiting in the Gulf.

Take that rock accross the Atlantic to Washington, D.C., install it at the head of that reflecting pool at the opposite end of the Washington Monument.

Mr. Preznit, don't it bring a tear to your eye to envision 100 million Muslims saying their prayers, five times a day, and bowing to Washington?

Hell, I hate to have to offer my solution to a Retardlican, but something needs to be done now.
