More than 1/5th of the population of Saudi Arabia are non-nationals, working in the oil industry. Could the problems with muslim extremists be solved by training locals to work the oil industry instead? I recall this was a main reason for riots in Nigeria by locals demanding jobs in new oil company startups. Maybe this is less about religion and more about jobs? All those non-citizens taking jobs away from local people has got to be a huge upset.
