JIMO should be going to Neptune, or to Titan

The JIMO mission does not make scientific sense, but a NEP-mission to Neptune does, since it saves years off of the travel time compared to chemical rockets. Or you could send "JIMO" to Saturn's moon Titan, where an orbiter can actually do some good science, and small lander packages make sense because they can use the moon's extensive atmosphere as a braking mechanism.

But nope, they're sending it to the Jupiter system, spending billions of dollars on what Gary has described as a "technology demonstration."

The press release was ridiculous in suggesting the launch of the Neptune orbiter could happen in the second decade of this century. I give 50-50 odds of JIMO launching before 2020, and it will surely suck up funding for scientifically valuable missions, postponing them to years in the future.
