Wretchard of "Belmont Club" is arguably the Best Political Writer on Internet. I was just repeating "Wow" over and over again when I read his latest article Mephisto. I wonder if he writes for "Foreign Affairs" or some other main stream publication. He's probably too busy with an honest profession to write more than the occaisional piece for the Internet.
What we're seeing here with Wretchard maybe the political analog of the Linux operating system. Linux is a free operating system written by volunteers. Because most of these volunteers write code simply for the fun of it, almost all of the software in Linux is a "labor of love". This is immediately obvious if one examines the C language source code in the Linux kernel. I suspect Wretchard writes political commentaries just for the shear joy of writing about topics that interest him. I also suspect if he did this for a salary, meeting the political agendas of liberal editors then all the fun would be lost. Wretchard and Linux are two examples of where the Internet actually works (it's not all spam, ripoffs and porn).
