A fair question...
I will admit that I am far from current on the theater scene. Last two plays I saw were the new "Producers" musical, and "Noises Off." Heck, I don't even know who all the Tony nominees were.
I suppose I could look them up, but I see two possibilities:
A: Plays like "Assassins" were picked over better plays
B: No better plays were even nominated
Neither really says much about the award process. Actually, "Wicked" sounds pretty good.
