Excellent final point, Philip...

I too want more of the upper sequence.

However, there's outcrop right in front of Oppy. A contact with the lower stratigraphy. A piece of the puzzle. While on a geologic mapping traverse, I always assume that I am never coming back to an outcrop, I better do it while I am there.

And yeah, geologists sometimes take big risks for a sample. I had a mentor once who used to lean out of helecopters to sample Alaskan ridgelines, one skid against the cliff. He showed me pictures of each of the four helecopter accidents he'd survived. I know a geologist who was shot at in Nevada over a claim dispute. This was 1990! I Know a geologist that spent months in Antartica a thousand miles from the nearest outpost. Oppy knew what he was doing when he signed on.

Part of the gig.
