Animal Smarts
I've long been attracted to the notion that many non-human species are much more intelligent, and much less driven by instinct, than we've typically thought. Conversely, some behavourists also suggest that humans are more subject to the drives of instinct than we care to admit.
I freely offer that in my family, our cat is the brains of the operation. :-)
