Space/Science » in reply to After the Sun, the hottest body in the solar system...

Ahhh!...Contraire!...What is the temperature at the core of Jupiter?

It seems to me, Raoul, that if Jupiter were 10-20 times more massive, it would be a "Brown Dwarf"; hot enough at its core to fuse deuterium atoms into helium....at least in its early
history.
Clearly the core of Jupiter is "hotter" than anything except the sun in our Solar System.
cheers.
