The way you get surface ages on Mars is by meteorite accumulation. These also tell you the rate of wind erosion, as at Oppy.

"Blueberrires" = what an anthropomorphism to avoid the truth. These things are tectites, and the distribtution is wide-spread, as the super-resolution enhanced images will finally show, when they become available.

The way you get longer ages is by counting the 26 million year strata resulting from impact releases of water and CO2.
