One of these days people will become undistracted by the infotainment media just long enough to ask the question:

What exactly are Kerry's qualifications to be President other than "Not being Bush"?

People claim that Kerry's closet is just rattling with skeletons. Supposably there were issues with his military conduct in Vietnam (whispers about self inflicted wounds). There were definitely issues with his anti-Vietnam war activities. Supposably his attendence record in the Senate was poor. He has flip-flopped repeatedly on important political issues. He was plain wrong on some issues, e.g. supporting the watermellon greens against the Cassini RTGs. Also supposably Kerry has a babe on the side that the media has beem discretely ignoring (nice of them to do that). If Bush's election handlers start to get worried, they can always trot out Kerry's babe and attempt a Monica Lewinsky. People will realize that Kerry is not electable after they take a good look at him.
