280 million Chinese farmers to get TV for the first time
What's wierd is this:
"China has hundreds of television stations, with China Central Television the dominant network."
...but...
"...they still will not be able to watch foreign programs such as CNN and BBC which are restricted to diplomatic compounds, top hotels and some office buildings."
Before anyone throws a harry about freedom in communist countries, I'd guess the language barrier is the problem, moreso than politics. Still, ya gotta wonder about the restriction to diplomatic compounds, top hotels and some office buildings! Wierd.
