re:"To a Rocky Moon"
In To A Rocky Moon, Wilhelms divides the book in "eras" concerning the science of the moon.
For instance, from 1892 to 1957, it's about Grove Karl Gilbert, Ralph Belknap Baldwin and Eugene Merle Shoemacker.
What I found most interesting were the years preceding the first moonlanding, with the Rangers, Lunar Orbiters and Surveyors. I had never found a lot of literature about those unmanned moon flights and Whilhelms' book was a treasure of information!
Of course, the discoveries of the Apollo flights too are a great read!
