The disease is something more than an impersonal academic matter
to debate on an internet forum, it can happen to you.
It can become very personal.
It doesn't only strike the very old.
I saw an interview on CNN about a man, age 57, who has had
symptoms of Alzheimer's disease since he was 52.
In the interview he was "still" able to understand basic things,
and he recognized his wife.
And he was also very scared, because of the strange things happening to him in recent years...

BUt...terrible and sad it is to say, maybe one day [hypothetically]
you're sitting at your computer and you don't know what to type.
You don't know what's available on the PC...you have only a vague
idea of what the internet is. And yet 24 hours earlier you were on Habitablezone.com debating some subject, and posting your opinions.
By a cruel irony, you've become a victim of not only AD, but of
something more metaphysical: the difference between what is important
and what is not.

Alzheimer's disease; more cruel than you think.
