Of course al Qaeda is weak. That is precisely why they are a terrorist organization. Terror is the war the weak and politically impotent fight. The terror they create gives them the headlines, TV time, and recognition they can achieve in no other way.

Today al Qaeda has achieved a notariety impossible under any other circumstances. Ralph Nader is still collecting speaking fees, donations, political backing, etc. simply because he was the gadfly that bit GM on the rump. Nader has never created anything, done anything of note--except to destroy the Corvair.

A salaam aleikum brother, al Qaeda doesn't need to do anything to be important and a world wide political force--it has destroyed enough to get the attention it thrives on.
