Must be for some type of satisfaction, because why would anyone knowingly go into enemy territory and taunt them? I mean, what kind of a welcoming would you expect? And you're telling THEM, you got "direct word" from Rumsfeld, and then you wonder why they call you a nutball??
I don't visit those sites or read them, nor am I interested. I have never sworn at you or called you names. I have used descriptive adjectives similiar to those you lay on us here.
As for your line:
>"This sort of moral confusion is rampant and which leads to an equal moral void when it comes to civility" is more of your nattering.
Beleive it or not, some people consider the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" as their moral compass. People die. When terrorism results from the weak being dominated by the strong, then an execution takes place because of the deaths of innocents. So, although you may see the beheading as the reprehensible act that justifies bombing the shit out of more innocent civilians, I don't. Revenge is revenge is revenge. It's an endless cycle. You can't keep the peace by constantly fighting.
While some people still think that by throwing all our men and money into a country looking for terrorism suspects (while creating tenfold more) is a good thing to do, I disagree.
What we have in Iraq is a direct result of Bush's wanton revenge for September 11th. And the results of PNAC, and a mess we shouldn't be in. While the fanatics offer themselves up to Allah and George Bush, the smarter ones will be preparing our demise here at home. Will we be prepared? Are we putting our money and our manpower in the wrong place?
I think I'd say yes.
And Bush's arrogance at the beginning of this war has distanced our long time allies, the people we need to HELP us on this "war on terror".
That phrase is an oxymoron. Because you can't fight terror with bigger and better terror. Because you just get ENDLESS terror.
As for "Ronnie". I think he probably was a very nice person, but he let his ideals be swayed by those who manipulated him. In essence, I think he was a puppet for the radical right. May he rest in peace.
