As a mater of fact we did hear a sonic boom. Not as loud as the shuttle but clearly a boom. I was afraid we wouldn't cause they had a loud speaker right next to us that wasn't working very well. Gave of lots of hissing crackling and popping in addition to the announcer who was very loud.
