Caught this scifi film, written and directed by Kurt Wimmer, on cable this past weekend.

It is a post apocalypse story that is kind of a cross between fahrenheit 415 and The Matrix. Without raising great expectations, it is worth watching.

It is a fairly thoughtful scifi action film that uses the Matrix visual formula and the fascist tone of F-415. It introduces a fascinating concept of martial art involving hand guns called Gun-Kata. The skill is taught to the Gramaton Clerics that are the praetorian guard of a fascist regime that controls the population with an emotion supressing drug.

It is too much story squeezed into 90 minutes, requires some suspension of disbelief and some of you might hate it but it is several cuts above the normal lower budget scifi available on cable. I got a big unexpected kick out of it.
