re: Crisis in Southern France
Something remotely similar happened here several years ago. I was driving down Powers Blvd when I heard a radio report that a mountain lion had been spotted at an intersection near me. When I got there, I saw the animal. It was a chow dog*. They're about the same size and color as a mountain lion, but come on! It wasn't as absurd as confusing a black house cat with a panther, but it was still funny.
*My mother owns a half chow, half something else dog named Seiko (it is supposed to be a watch dog). That's one strange animal. Everyone else in the family calls it Psycho.
