You are correct
The previous burn did show the propulsion system was essentially sound. I am actually pretty confident that the Cassini SOI burn will be successful. Where things get "interesting" is with the Huygen entry. The thermal protection community is worried about Huygen's heatshield. Some problems were discovered after Cassini was launched (these additional problems are in addition to the Doppler shift problem in Huygen's radio transmitter).
