Hear hear

Well put BRFelix but I fear that we are now right back where the Viking 1 team left us around 20 years ago, Please anyone corect me if I'm wrong but, despite the recent discovery of similar soils in the Atacama desert, we don't understand the nature of thew UV-induced oxidation on the surface of Mars.
Having observed the ways in which iron precipiates in acid-saline lakes, I believe we are looking at systems with minimal water. Hence the small size of the "blueberries" and their random distribution in the altered sulfate host rocks. But all truely fascinating geochemistry.
