Kerry made a brief stop out here. His flags had made-in-China printed on them and so they were quickly pulled down. His delivery is stiff as a board - the man really has no personality. He makes Gore seem animated.
It was amazingly, complete amateur-hour rhetoric.
Then to a primarily poor, hispanic audience (which seem to be the only ones who vote for him out here in any numbers) he says that America must return to the way it was. He promises an immigration reform package in his first hundred days. He repeats all this in poorly parsed Spanish. Nothing says patriotic American like promising to open up the borders for illegal aliens in another language!
It's really quite sad. Even the primarily hispanic audience (for whom most of his rhetoric was targeted) was underwhelmed. I haven't seen as poor a received Presidential candidate pitstop since I saw Carter in CA in 1975.
I more than ever look forward to the debates!
Kerry's visit - a classic!
