I also saw Saddam's statue going down in real time on television and observed the same things as Tom Brosz. One disagreement that I have with the Slate article is I believe it was a tank recovery vehicle that pulled down the statue and not an M-1 tank.

The "L.A. Times" article reminds me of the Ministry of Truth in "1984". The "L.A. Times" seems to think it can rewrite history to suit its liberal agenda. This is both laughable and pathetic in the age of the Internet. I wonder if we would have lost the Vietnam War if there had been an Internet during the 1960s?
