As in the thread below: It's my default browser. It works for any site that isn't exclusively written for IE (most sites detect it as "Netscape").
What I like most about it, besides the name *grin* and that it's not MicroSux, is that it gives you the option of opening pages in new tabs in the same window (like later versions of AutoCAD, for instance), rather than needing to open a new window. Keeps the screen clutter down.
Bookmark handling looks more like "IE for Mac" - in other words, it opens up a new window that displays the target URL as well as the title, where you can drag them around for reorganizing. Notes can be added, too.
It's open source. It comes with preset bookmarks to Mozilla's discussion boards, which I've found helpful more than once. The development team are all regular contributors; it's like a giant version of HZ Geek Speak.
Bells and whistles are optional - you can download "plug-ins" (Mozilla calls them "extensions") if you choose, but you're not forced to. On the other hand, pop-up blocking is standard. It does require you to download different ("Netscape") versions of Flash, RealPlayer, and a couple of others...
And, of course, it's immune to MS security breaches.
Download and installation are quick and easy (4.7 Mb) and you can run it right away without a re-start. The best advice I can give you is: give it a test drive - but try not to run both browsers at once. At least on my system (Win98SE) there seems to be a conflict that causes BSOD.

I haven't tried "Thunderbird" - unfortunately, when I joined the staff at Lit Pot I had to start using Outlook to be compatible. Up until then, I only used web-mail.
