Superb textbook example.
Read this diatribe and compare it with the actual report or conclusion paper. I would bet money the author of this editorial has seen neither document, but is rehashing other news reports.
Note again the repeated lie:
Sadly, the investigation stopped without assessing how President Bush had used the incompetent intelligence reports to justify war. It left open the question of whether the analysts thought they were doing what Mr. Bush wanted. While the panel said it had found no analyst who reported being pressured to change a finding, its vice chairman, Senator John Rockefeller IV, said there had been an "environment of intense pressure." But the issue was glossed over so the report could be adopted unanimously.
Compare this to the report conclusions I pointed out, precisely because this lie is being spread, in a previous post. Does this sound like an "open question?" But hey, John Rockefeller knows what's really happening, right? And no political bias there.
Again, there are a lot of people who seem to be a lot more interested in defeating Bush in this election than fixing intelligence problems.
