Canadian Arrow Space Center

The Canadian Arrow uses V2 rocket engine technology, which clusters many burners inside a single combustion chamber. This engine is usually the type proposed for "big dumb rocket" and "cheap access to space" proposals. It is scalable from small rockets that reach only 3000 meters altitude, to the Sea Dragon which was the ultimate expression of this engine, being the biggest rocket ever proposed. With half the takeoff weight of the Titanic, the Sea Dragon two-stage rocket would have placed 550 tonnes of payload in LEO at a cost between $59 - $620 per kilogram. As stated here, progress in U.S. space technology has historically been crippled by budget cut-backs during U.S. military campaigns abroad. Fortunately, the Canadian Arrow is privately funded; designed, built & flown on Canadian soil; and unaffected by American politics.
