I am becoming increasingly convinced that there IS life on Mars.

The data are slowly coming together to indicate that life indeed is present beneath the surface. My vote is for autochemotrophic bacteria-like organisms.

If we DO find life on Mars, then that pretty well establishes the commonness of life in the Universe. Two planets in the same planetary system can not be a coincidence, but must result from either:

1. The high probability that life emerges when favorable conditions are present.
2. The remote chance that life from Earth or Mars traveled from one to the other on a meteorite.

I favor number 1.
