We were refining 18.6 million barrels a day in 1981, today it's 16.8 million.
The last oil refinery was built in the US back in 1976. Since 1981 the number of refineries in the US has dropped from 324 to 153 refineries today. I urge everyone here to call or write their senators in support of H.R. 4517 (United States Refinery Revitalization Act).
