Messenger isn't going to go into orbit around Mercury until March of 2011. Too bad Nasa can't spend a little more money to get it there faster. IMO Delta IIs should not be used for deep space missions. Put enough fuel onboard for a straight shot and launch it on a Delta IV. These back and forth trajectories between planets just take too long.
