Was an overwhelming success. Local news reporters are estimating the crowd size at 13,000 plus. Bush delivered an excellent speech, in which he strongly reinforced the differences between himself and John Kerry.

Larry Gatlin entertained the Bush crowd before and after the rally and made the most astute observation I've heard from a "hollywood type" when he said: "John Kerry tells us that he will respond to any and all Al Queda attacks against the American people...Well so would Barney Fife...So tell us something we don't know already Mr. Kerry!"

The Kerry rally took place at exactly the same time 5 blocks away. His rally was by invatation only, and was attended by about 200 people.

Meanwhile 3 banks were robbed in town. One culpret is in police custody, while one or more other bank robbers are at large. No word on wether or not torture techniques are being used on the individual in custody to get him to give up the names of his fellow robbers, But it apears to be a conspiracy of some sort.

Other than that, its been an average overcast day here in the heartland.
