The Iranian facilities are not like the Iraqi Osiraq reactor. They are more spread out, in harden undergound bunkers and near population centers. The Iranians have spent a lot of money to create a nuclear military industrial complex with the Israel / Iraq experience firmly in mind. Also, apparently the Iranians are doing this with close technical support from ex-Soviet and North Korean engineers and scientists.
I don't understand why the Iranians are doing this. It is almost as if they are asking to become nuclear targets themselves. Surely, if an Israel city disappeared under a nuclear cloud, the Israelis would throw everything they had at the Iranians. Do the Iranians seek "national martyrdom? Has their religion rendered these people collectively insane? I find this very confusing.
