Clever hackers

I've noticed a lot more "social engineering" in those virus emails, of the sort of thing you guys are talking about: They're using psychology to make opening an attachment seem attractive. One of the wickedest I've seen just this week is a notice purportedly from virus software running on a mail server, notifying you that your computer is infected and sending out infected mail. And, of course, you're supposed to open the attachment to learn the details. Another common trick these days is to reproduce the standard layout of most mail server bounce messages, again with an attachment that's supposedly the mail that didn't go through.

It's not possible to be too paranoid about email!
