Because as far as I can tell you have taken sides and hide behind being moderate when it suits you.
Well, there's no question I have some conservative leanings. I don't think I've ever tried to hide them per se. And I have to offer that on many issues, the most compelling and convincing arguments are coming from the Republicans. Certainly in here, I find (lately anyway) the liberals seem to be having a hard time putting together a really coherent, rational case. There's a lot of anger, sarcasm and generalities, but none of that's going to sway me in November. The left is at it's best when it makes the effort to create an argument that can be demonstrably backed-up. It happens, but with depressing rarity.
I take issue with the Bush admin over it's use of the spectre of WMD to rally the nation behind the war. I think they should have taken the approach that the existence of WMD was not verifiable in the short-term and the main reason for war was to liberate the Iraqis from Saddam's tyranny. I doubt America would have backed the war under those circumstances. But I'm not convinced it was a case of lying, because Bush and Blair may well have been as misled as the rest of us were...and I'm not convinced that Iraq is a lost cause by any means (though that will be the case if we fail against the insurgents).
So I don't fall into line with either the Dems or the Reps on all the issues. The right doesn't seem to have a problem with that, but the left seems far less tolerant of disagreement. Just callin' it like I see it.
