I wonder if it's a concern for profits more than anything.

Now, I've noticed that GWB has to keep the public scared, and at the same time convince 'em that the lives lost and billions spent have made them safer. A fine line, there.

However, I'm a bit tired of warnings that airplanes, helicopters, crop dusters, cars, limos, trucks, scuba divers, and/or animals could be used to poison our food, water, or drugs, take out power lines, power generating facilities, financial institutions, bridges, highways, buildings, tunnels, or whatever.

It's not that I wouldn't appreciate a warning. However, none if these are useful. Every week it's something "new", which ain't new. It's clear that almost anything could be used to harm almost anything else. That's obvious.

I guess that by the time something happens GWB and Ridge will be able to say "I told you so". We'll get the "preen", the "smirk", and the patriotic words all over again, much ado, signifying nothing.
